2003 600 clutch grabbing

Default 2003 600 clutch grabbing

anyone had a problem with their belt grabbing and jerking on take off mine seems to grab twice is this a clutch or belt problem any help appreciated[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

It could be a number of problems. Take the clutch cover off and run it and watch and see what is going on.

IT COULD BE ALL OF THE ABOVE OR POSSIBLY AN ALIGNMENT PROBLEM.HAS ANYTHING BEEN DONE TO IT??

nothing done so far will pull cover and check what should i look for ???

Just run it and see if you can pin point a problem or at least discribe what is happening. Check belt and make sure it is in good condition and look at the clutches and chech for cracks and what not. You might just need to clean it up real good. You might want to be a little careful when you are running it with the cover off. Watch out for things that could fly out or get hung in the belt.

DON'T put your hands or feet near it when running it with the cover off. But that is the best way to see what it's doing. Don't get your face too close either. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] My best guess is that the belt has a spot or two where it's worn out.

check to make sure thier isnt a broke engine mount either. while in neutral engage the throtle to see the clutch engage up thru to the shift out point of both clutches to make sure its working correctly

thanks for the help i will try all of the above and will post the problem when i find it will be taking apart this week end

well got the clutch problem solved the belt had two spots where it had been burned and glazed new dayco belt took care of it thanks for all the help
