Can any one tell me if this would be a good machine. I am looking at possibly picking one up for my kid, never heard of it before. Looks like a sport quad.

 

Great quad! Make sure the swing arm bearings are good and the case saver is intact, and you will enjoy years of fun!

 

great machines for kids, ide suggest you space out the stance on it before rough riding, they are not very wide... but as far as dependability goes this would be a great quad for a inermediate rider, and yes it is a sport quad...

 

How old is the kid?

Is it a 230s or a 230e? The 230s had a kick start and a fully manual clutch..... the 230e had electric start and a semi-auto shifter.....

Either way they were a solid machine in their day and still carry some weight in performance today.... they are great for a kid to learn on because they are so light and handle well.......the power is fairly mild but they are not slow....

 

The listing is kind of putting me off, it discribes the engine and trani "5.5 HP Briggs & Stratton, Torq-A-Verter transmission". Is this right, or am I just seeing things?
