Default 1988 TRX 250R

I have a 1988 TRX 250R...it was set up to race when I bought it and has mostly after market parts. I don't know for a fact what year the plastic (front and rear fenders) is that's on it. It's stock Honda OEM. I have a chance to possibly get another set of Honda OEM plastic from an '86 that is in better shape. I'm almost positive that the front fenders are the same as what I already have. The '88 rear fenders have a different bolt configuration than the '86 but I can get the seat pan/foam/cover too. My quad also has a custom flip seat on it too, which might through another wrench into the works, so to speak.

Does anyone know for sure if the '88 and '86 plastic are interchangeable?

They are one in the same.

400EX plastics and seat arent that hard of a swap on the 250R either. Just a few minor mods, but fits best with the 400EX fuel tank. Only mention that because ebay is chock full of 400EX body parts.

Yes they will work. The only issue would be the nose piece. If you go to the later style you would have to remove the headlight from the handlebars and mount it in the nose plastic. I did it to my 87' check out my pictures page and you'll see.

i bought 88 plastic for my 86 model. i dont recall it with a vastly differnt bolt pattern. the peice UNDER the front section IS different but it will work. looks more rounded & open like a f-16 or something on the earlier models.
