I have an 05 Grizzly 600. Sometimes when I get into mud or deeper water, the thing totally bogs down. It's like it hits the limiter when you are in reverse and really dont do much. Has this ever happened to anyone?!?! Or do you know what I should do?

Well first of all, is it a 600 or 660? Yamaha didn't make the 600 in 2005. If its a 660, check your electrical connections down on the front diff and put die electric grease on them. Also check your spark plug connection and die electric grease that as well. Another thing it could be is steam from the hot engine hitting water is entering the airbox and choking the engine. Modify side panels to allow more airflow, or some ppl have had luck rejetting.

Hope this helps...

yes, it is a 660, didnt mean to put 600. Would the electrical make it bog and hit the rev limiter like that?

Well the connections on the front diff are for difflock. When they get wet they can 'fool' the ecu into thinking it is in difflock, and therefore activates the rev limiter. I have heard of it happening on 660's, as well as the other things I mentioned. Not a guarantee, but definately a possibility.

were u using the reverse rev-limiter as an example? Or were you saying you are having the problems in reverse?

Ha, yeah thx Hebs, I totally read that a different way...if it is hitting the rev limiter while in reverse, then yes there is a limiter there and you will need to over ride it via these instructions:

If its bogging down going forward and acting like its in reverse, then my above recommendations still could apply...
