Default 1997 Foreman Switching to 12" rims, tire size?

The quad is a bone stock 97 honda foreman 400. I am switching to 12" rims and i'm not sure what size of tires will fit. I do not want them to rub! (I do not plan on lifting it) I would like to get some mudlite xl's.

Thanks!

Since the bike is very similar to the 450 Foreman, you may fit 27's but comparing the 2 side by side the 450 foreman looks taller....could just be me. I'd say 26" tires would fit fine, say a 9" width in front and 11 in the rear.

The quad is great. Its actually my fathers, he's owned it since new. I think it has just under 400km on it (still has the factory tires on it!) It just needs some bigger lugs.

Had to put a new front differential, rear axle, one rear hub and bearings in my...$1350.00.

Hope it will last awhile...son hard on it. Has over 3000 miles on it.
