WELLLL after finally an offical word from brp my dealer was able to go and rip my 800 apart, background my outy was blowing black smoke and burning excess oil, well after doing a compresion test my one clynder is down 60%!!! Time for new rings!!....this is just great news, only good news is that BRP is willing to pay for it all b.c of the 4 year motor warrenty. When I took my machine in another was in for the same, I have a feeling this is going to become and issue with high milage models!

 

How many miles do you have on this bike? and what year is it?
Has anyone else had this problem? I was thinking of purchasing the new 09 outy 800 xt.

 

It was a 2004, and maybe i had roughly 5000miles not sure to be exact, never beated the machine, always did the correct maintence, cleaned air fileter etc, it may just be doumb luck but another machine was in there for exact problem only time will tell!

 

sorry to tell ya but outlander 800's werent being made until 2006
