Here's a few things that cause excessive heat:
Incorrect spark plug gap or heat range
bad CDI-timing
incorrect oil level/viscosity
bad oil pump
clogged air filter
incorrect jetting
bad head gasket
carbon build up in combustion chamber
also does the quad coast freely or is something dragging(bearings/brakes)

I'm trying to figure out why my 03 warrior runs hot. It runs fine but gets hot in seconds of starting, but i cant tell if its because i havent been on it in a while or if it is really to hot. I've gone through all the motions.

Does anyone have a clue what the round about running temp should be for a warrior????

Don't wash it right after you ride!!!!! Wait until it cools down. It will steam if it is hot like that.

it's an air cooled motor, it's gonna get hot. get used to it.
if it's that unbearable switch to a heavier oil in the summer.
