Has anyone used a venom 3000 winch on a 08 sportsman? I have a 08 sportsman 500 ho. I was wandering how easy it was to install. I can buy it on ebay with a polaris specific mounting plate but want to make sure there won't be anything else done. How hard it the wiring? Thanks.

 

i have used a gorilla on the 400 and its not too bad. you can get one of those for around $100 to 125. im guessing that your bike is prewired as well so most of the wiring is already there. welcome to the forum.

 

I would also like to know because I have the same machine and was thinking about buying this winch.It looks like the 500 should be prewired for a winch but I was'nt sure if it was for the polaris winch or the wiring would work for any of them.

 

its prewired for the warn or polaris winch but i beleave their all pretty close on how they hook up.

 

the wires are near the contactor mount plate, it is under the right front fender

and you also have to connect the hot wire to the battery, it is under the left rear fender, in yellow shrink wrap, I think it was yellow, but anyways its not real hard to do
