Default blaster no power

Hello, I just purchased an 03 blaster. I took it out the first day rode it for about and hour and it ran beautifu, then it just quit. Sounded like sand was going through the engine. I got it to start again but had to fan the throttle to keep it running. It has no power now and it will not idle. I changed the spark plug and noticied that inside the tip of the plug had little metal ***** in it. Im not sure what this means but can some one help me. What do i need to do to fix problem?

thanks

Possibly blew up the engine. Need to do a compression test. You could also check the reeds to make sure they are OK.

The grinding sound almost sounds like some bottom end bearings that gave up. If the piston broke I highly doubt it would run at all, at least mine didn't. By kicking it over with a compression tester you will probably have alright compression then you will have to have your bottom end redone. When you get it fixed before you ride make sure your oil injection didn't give out and starve your motor for oil.

thank you for replying to my question. I have done some research by talking to a local atv shop. He said sounds like the piston melted and need to have top end replaced. He said normally runs about 180 parts and labor as long as the crank is still good. He also said he has a motor that was just redone top end and bottom end, and new shifter forks also said it was bored out. Said they woud swap engines for 400 dollars. Does this sound like a fair price?

I agree with quadsportguy. Mix your fuel and forget the injection, it is prone to failure. You won't know til it's too late!

How long can you ride a two stroke before you need to let it cool down?

You can ride it forever without letting it cool down.

I have seen way more humans blow up their engine by screwing this up than the injection system. I think I would rely more on the machine.
