Default Raptor 50 stalls when it gets wet

Help, My son's 2007 Yamaha Raptor 50 stalls when he rides through the water. Usually it is not deep water but your normal puddles and mudholes. It usually happens when he rides kind of fast and water splashes about. The 50 dies and will not crank for quite awhile. I am leaning towards some electrical connection getting wet of water getting into the air filter or carb. Does anyone know of any issues with the raptors and water. My other sons 80 does the same thing from time to time but not nearly as often. Please Help so we can ride in the mud.
