Oil Cooler upgrade FYI
#1
I have a 01 Wolverine I just picked up. Previous owner beat the crap out of the oil cooler - fins were clogged and colapsed + it had signs of a JB Weld fix....
A friend gave me a oil cooler off a V8 mustang - perfect fit and something I recommend to add cooling capactiy. Mounted it vertical, with the inlet and outlet tubes up top. Bent the mounting tab on the bottom of the cooler to bolt onto a front diff bolt. Then hand bent the inlet and outlet tubes and cut them to fit. Cut the fittings off the factory rubber hoses and used hose clamps to attach to the inlet/ outlet of the cooler.
Took about a hour to fab up and intall. If I have time I will take some pics and post them up.... cheap mod for those needing the extra cooling or a solution to a banged/ fagged up factory cooler.

When I put in my 446 kit in my Wolverine,I picked up an 8 pass oil cooler from a Kodiak/Big Bear, just had to change around the top mount, then make 2 "L" shaped brakcets to bolt them to some unused tapped holes on the frame, factory oil lines bolt right up,just had to turn them 90 degrees, added some perforated mesh to protect the lower part, and it works great, no oil line mods,if the brackets were painted black, it would almost look like a factory set up.

got my oil cooler on eBay, that, or you could do an online search for ATV salvage yards, I think I paid about 40 bucks for mine. As long as there is no damage, you could take out your cooler, and take it to an airconditioning service shop, they have special "combs" that can lift and straighten out bent or flattened fins, could save you a lot of time and money.
