Which Utility/Trail ATV???
#1
I am looking for a used utility atv for light trail riding, around the house work, and plowing snow. I know 2x4 isn't the best but as long as I keep up with the snowfall, I'll be fine. Yard work would be putting a trailer on and carrying stuff around. As for trails, it's northern PA. Basically a rocky, overgrown, unpaved jeep road. Some mudpits, water holes, and steep hills also. So the question is...
2006 Honda Recon 250 manual shift or 2004 Suzuki Ozark 250? Any input is greatly appreciated. Also look in my bio for pictures.

definatly ozark. i own an 04 ozark, and it is a workhorse! I have owned it for 3 and a half years, and the only thing i've had to do to it was a new bulb for the neutral light.
and i have ridden my friend's recons, and it just feels like mine has more "oomph" to it. there are A LOT of recons were i live, because i live in a small Illinois town, where EVERYONE is a farmer, and we only have 1 dealership and its...you guessed it, a honda dealer. So alot of people own recons. but I say go with the ozark. its got a better low end than the recon, and i have had no problems with mine.

The Recon is a sweet little machine! We thrashed one for 10 years, then the neighbor bought it, and continues to thrash it.
But for snow plowing, why not a 4X4 Rancher????

If you're really set on one of those two the 246cc Ozark would probably be a better choice than the 229cc Recon. But a 4x4 400-500 will do ten times what a 4x2 "250" will. So why not a 4x4 anything, for plowing, mudding, hill climbs, working, towing, and everything else. 4x2 is great for sport quads but not utilities.
