Default First ATV: What to buy?

Hello-
I am looking to buy my first ATV, and I know that I want a 4x4 Utility as my main purpose is to use it around the yard and to plow my driveway. The information I am looking for here is what size would be preferable for that type of use and what makes/models would be best suited for it. I am really only looking to spend around $500-$750 so Im thinking the year range would be late '80s, which is fine. Any ideas or information I should know about?

Thanks

There was maybe 2 or 3 different utilities in the late 80's and I don't think 4x4 was around yet.

I just sold my lt250 4x4 suzuki.. I paid 200 for it.. Put 1200 into it and I resold it for 800... it was running like new when i sold it but they are hard to find. It was a little rough plastic wise though.

You are not going to get a good reliable 4x4 quad for that price ...... Myabe one that does not run and needs more than that in repairs.

Yeah well funny you mention the suzuki because that is exactly what i was looking for and found. Check out this ad - http://worcester.craigslist.org/rvs/861658584.html

I am a little weary of the oil issue and the odometer being broken though, I feel like it could have a lot more miles than it says. Think the $450 is worth it despite that?

My 89 Yamaha 350 Big Bear was a 4x4, but I sold that for $2000 Canadian and it had no front brakes or working electric start and had a zillion miles on it but ran great, even a good condition 3 wheeler goes for 700-1000 dollars up here.
