SP500 clutch rebuild?? Got the creeps in gear
#1
I pulled a buddy out a hole several days ago and since then I noticed my primary drive clutch is staying engaged against the belt causing it to creep at idle in gear and hitting the brakes stalls it.Is it time for a clutch rebuild? Polaris quoted me $425 for a new one

might have burned the belt a little bit causing it to be narrower. which would cause it to slide down in the clutch more creating a constant drag on the belt

I smoked a few belts really bad by trying to fit in between trees that were too close (trail maintained at 50" my a$$!!!) etc. All of them blew up about 100 miles later. If you didn't smoke it that bad, it probably won't blow up.

Which clutch is "sticking" primary (front) or secondary (rear). If the primary is in fact sticking you might have mud/dirt in there. You will need to talk it part and clean it. If the primary is sticking a new belt will not fix anything, you will just burn up a new belt.
