400EX CDI rev-kit needed when removing airbox?

I'm thinking about buying a new 400EX, but I want to keep on the stock exhaust for money and noise reasons...
However, I am going to remove the airbox completely, run a K&N with Outerwears, properly re-jet; and am wondering if it'll be beneficial to install a CDI rev-kit?
