I have an 07 500 EFI sportsman, something is causing the battery not to keep a charge---the battery is good and will hold a charge but after 45 minutes or running wheeler a get a battery icon flashing. does anybody have any ideas? stator? regulator?.....i also have a friend that just bought an 08 800 EFI and he's having same trouble. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Check with volt meter at battery to see if charging 14-14.5 volts,IF is load test battery. Have had some batteries bad straight out of the box or fail within a short time. If not charging or not charging enough,may have to trouble shoot .

 

I was having the same issue with my 07 500 EFI. I have just shipped my stator out to get rebuilt. Mine was not charging 100 %. If you are not up around the 15v level you can check your stator by Disconnect your stator and measure 3 yellow wires to each other with a volt meter. All 3 should be pretty much the same. I only had 1 bad lead on mine, but my problems sounded just like yours.
