OPINIONS: '08 Grizzly 700 w/ EPS vs. '08 Sportsman 800
#1
Which should I go for? The Grizzly is about $500 more. Power steering on the Grizzly, but the Sportsman has more power. I've heard great things about the Grizzly and good things about the Sportsman.
Most of my riding will be in the woods through stick trails, some swamp area, and farmland.
Which would you go with?

Welcome to the forum you are going to get alot of feed back on this because there is mainly Polaris fans on this websight. But with that said Polaris makes one heck of machine. We like to call them the Cadillac of utility machines as they have the best ride going of any ute out there. The biggest negitive of a Popo is the weight, if you are looking for a trail machine this not the machine to get but if it work oriented by all means it is the only one to get. Polaris Sportsmans are by far the easiest machine to ride out there with there belt drive system they are along with the 4x4 system are easy to use and are hard to beat.
Now as for the Grizz it is my machine of choice and my Popo will soon be traded in on one I truly belive that Yamaha has the complete pkg going for them. The Grizz has won more 4x4 comp as of late, and more than any other 4x4 out there.
Is the Grizz more powerfull than a 800 Popo NO, but IMO you dont need alot of power in a ute unless it is for work purpose's anyway as where I ride you barly get ove 40MPH anyway. As allways this is JMO hope it helps you with your decision all you need to do is test ride them both and go with the one that you like best, as you are the one who has to live with your decision. GOOD LUCK!

try to ride both.........decide that way
and like Dodge said...even though the 800 may have more snap, your not going fast on the trails...the grizz is a nice package IMBO (in my biased opinon )

I have to agree with what DODGE57HEMI says, I sold my 700 Polaris not long ago to get my 08 Grizzly 700 EPS and I am glad I did. There is certainly nothing wrong with the Polaris and I am sure you would like it, but I just like the Yamaha much better. I never got use to the "one lever braking" and while some like the Polaris AWD system I did not. I also did not like the drive train noise even though I am sure it would never cause problems. Some prefer the rack system on a Polaris, but I do not like plastic racks, never have and never will. I would try them both and get the one that best fits you, I doubt you will kick yourself either way you go.
