Hey, I recently picked up a 1984 Kawasaki KXT-A Tecate. I got all the parts on e bay and fabricated all my parts to restore this classic. Today my parts were delivered so tomarrow I get to go ride her!!! :w00t: except i cant find what the required factory fuel mixture...
WHAT IS THE GASIL FUEL MIXTURE FOR A 1984 kxt-a TECATE????????
also, its been awhile since i had a 2-stroker. I used to run klotz benoil it my pw,kx, and my honda 250r but i dont even see that around anymore. i know they are all good now a days but for you tecate guys and other 2 stoke riders; what is your prefered 2-cycle oil and do you notice a difference?
Sorry this quick question is so long, im just so astatic about tomarrows opening run. She doesnt have very many hours on it and has been sitting for 10+years. Thank you so much for ANY feed back!!

No, unfortunetly it doesnt. I always loved that feature though. maked it easier and harder to burn down. Of course when i was 14 i burnt my xcr 440sp down from not keeping any oil in the oil injector jug.

Todays oils are way better than yesterday.
That was form the 80's, oils have changed. 32:1 is you best bet and your safest.

32:1 is very safe, maybe even a little rich. My Lt calls for 20:1 but when you run a premium oil that is rediculous. Even at 32:1 the thing was way too rich I have found 38:1 to be the magic number for mine. Do what you feel is safest.
On the Oils, these are on the mid-high end of price, but I have always had good luck with the Maxima 927, Golden Spectro, and Motul.
Have fun!!!

ok, thanks alot.... that makes alot of sence. I will use 32:1... i got the thing going today but it wont get the rpms up right.... kind of feels like it hits a rev limiter and dies out then starts climbing again when i hold the throttle open...uuhhg getting frustrated... think i'll have advanced auto check the coil tomarrow after work.... thanks again for the info and helping me get back to me 2 stroke roots!!!
