Raptor 660 backfire??????
#1
Hey everyone. I have a 2001 Raptor 660, Its got a HMF slip on and stock intake. Its jetted to 145 main left and 150 main right with the fuel screws approx 2.5 out. Today I decided to try cutting out the baffles in my snorkle to help get better air flow into the airbox. I also turned the left fuel screw out a little. Then when i ran it it seemed fine till I would go full throttle from an idle. It has a slight hesitation followed by flames out the exhaust, but no real bang like a backfire. When you go full throttle from 1/4 throttle the flame is much smaller. I tried putting the fuel screw back but its still doing it. would cutting those small plastic baffles out of the snorkle make that much difference to cause this. Any suggestions are appreciated. thanks.

145/150 is the stock jetting, your running an after market exhaust with stock jetting and stock filter, you are probably running lean. but i would think with it shooting flames it would be rich?
