Default Grease zerks on 08 Sportsman 90

Would like to know how to properly grease a zerk and determine how much grease should be put in. I bought a pistol grip grease gun (full size) along with a flexible extension and a tube of the Polaris All season grease. I hooked up grease gun to zerk and was able to squirt a little grease in each zerk, but then I stopped because I didn't know how to tell how much to put in and didn't want to bust the zerk. Thanks.

thats not completely. if you do that on a rear end you end up blowing your seals. it takes time to learn what it feels like but you stop putting grease in once it gets a little tougher to pull the trigger. if its a bushing type with no seal then keep putting it in till the old grease starts coming out. if its a sealed housing like the front wheels or a rear end, then you want to stop once it gets a little tight.

Surprisingly, its easy to develop 5-6000 psi with a lever type grease gun and a plugged zerk. I've even seen them put out 10000 psi when you really torque on them, so be careful because it is real easy to blow seals using a lever type.
A pistol type gives you a lot better feel for when its starting to pressure up.
