where would i locate the VIN number on my 2000 honda 400ex?

anyone know? i know its suppose to be on front of quad on frame, but i'm not having any luck... any help would be appreciated

I don't know about the rest of you, but my VIN is NOT on the "left side frame downtube"!!!! I have owned a bunch of Hondas, and never ever seen a VIN in that location. On the downtube, is a sticker that gives the model, year, and place of manufacture.

My VIN is on the flat piece they are calling the "frame serial number".

Canadian models have the serial number in more than 1 spot..

If you can't read the vin rub some chalk line dust where it is suposed to be and you should be able to read as clear as day.

right behind the front bumper toward the top, there is a flat bar, it is located right there, if not someone may have removed it due to it being stolen, thanks
