2008 700 X2 Coolant Tank Breather hose?
#1
Hi. I've got a question regarding the coolant recovery bottle on my 2008 Sportsman 700 X2.
On my ATV, the coolant recovery tank has a nipple on top of the cap, but no hose connected to it. I see a loose clear tube wire tied to a support nearby that COULD be connected to the cap. Of course, the other end of this hose goes into the abyss so I can't tell if it is a breather or ??? Before I take off a bunch of plastic to find where the other end of this hose goes, I was wondering if someone could check their 2008 X2 and see if they have a hose connected to their coolant recovery tank cap?? I suppose ANY 2008 X2 would be the same, but I think that other years of X2s have difrferent caps (no nipple).
I don't want to just connect this hose to the cap and then find out that there isn't supposed to be a hose connected and the hose that I see is the gas tank overflow or breather!!
Thanks,
Chris

Wow. Thanks for the fast response, old polaris tech!
That makes me feel better. I was afraid that muddy water could get into the tank without the hose connected. On the other hand, I was afraid gasoline vapors would get into the tank if I connected that loose hose and it turned out to be the gas tank vent!
Thanks again for the quick response,
Chris
