When I turn the engine off on my 550 XP, there is some sort of noise that comes from the engine. It sounds like some sort clicking that almost resembles and electrical arc sound (though I am 90% sure that it isn't an arc). It is very faint and I didn't notice it until I shut the thing off when it was nice and quiet in my garage. The sound can be repeated by also turning the key on and then off, but not starting. It is perfectly consistent....same sound every time.

Anyone else heard this?

 

probably just a solenoid somewhere that is turning off. i believe there are solenoids in the rear end for the awd and turf mode selections not sure on that tho.

 

Maybe fuel presser regulator releasing the fuel presser, my 2008 500 HO EFI does the same thing when turning the key off.

 

Fuel pump pressurizing before you start it and releasing pressure when you stop...

850 does it as well, I'm wiith snosnake, either that or the idle air control valve closing. I haven't investigated it as it didn't alarm me.

 

the noise you are hearing is the idle air control motor resetting itself, nothing to worry about.

 

i never noticed that before. ill have to listen next time
