Default 450R Tranny Buzz

Hi all

My brother just bought a 2006 450R from a guy who I think was not too honest.
He paid $3900 for it and I just got 2 look at it, unfortunately I could not go with him to look at it b4 he bought it.

I can tell by looking at it it has NOT had an easy life.
The biggest problem I see is the tranny:
When you try to upshift the tranny makes a loud buzzing sound. although it will go into the next gear it just buzzes every time. I tried shifting w/o the clutch but it does the same thing. It also will not go into neutral when running. Yes I checked the clutch adjustment, and it is fine. Something is not right inside there ?????

anyone ever have a similar problem, or any ideas??

There are also 2 wires dangling from the right side of the handle bars?? Any idea what was there??

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I hate to see the kid get screwed like this!!!
THANX
ROB

One needs to run extra oil in the tranny. 3rd and 5th are lubed by splash, and the extra oil helps be sure they are kept wet. I run an extra 100 cc's. Dirt bike guys run a fill quart.

Spend the money for some Redline MC Gear Oil with ShockProof!

Usually not being able to shift into neutral while running is clutch adjustment or a new clutch cable needed. You need to not only adjust the cable at the bars but also on the side bracket by the clutch.
I would highly recommend installing a new clutch.
The wires on the right side bars are probably from the brake light, it is activated by the foot brake AND ther hand front brake.

It's difficult to find neutral on this tranny anyway. I wouldn't consider that to be diagnostic of any type of problem.
