Getting new sneakers on my 07 rancher
#1
im buying some kenda executioner mud tires for my rancher 420. they are 25x8x12 fronts and 24x10x12 rears. i went up an inch in the rear. my 420 can pull the stock meats just fine. i realize its a more aggressive tire, and an "inch" bigger but will i have trouble pulling these? i read something about an optimizer. can you just buy one with out having an aftermarder exhaust or after market air filter? i cant seem to find much besides and air filter, or optimizer for my rancher. if i did get an exhaust i would want it close to stock sound out put just because i have a 400ex thats borderline annoying even with the quiet core and i dont like that. any thoughts or input would be great.

Wait a minute! Front and rear must be the same size!
The front and rear ends need to sync up, so if the tires are different sizes everything is going to get all bound up!!!

Recon's right man, you can have 25's up front and 24's in the rear. Stock sizes on Ranchers are 24x8-12 in the front and 24x10-11 in the rear. You want to make sure that you are getting the right tire for your rims, unless you have aftermarket rims on your Rancher. Just make sure you have the same Diameter in the front as well as in the rear.

Be careful, becasue my experience has been that putting huge tires on the little Rancher, just ruins its sweet handling. Don't turn a peach into a clunker!

I think you would be fine Leroy. No bigger than you are going I can't see them making that big of a difference. But I haven't done it, yet. I am planning on doing exactly what you are thinking about. same width just 1 inch taller, so I am interested to see how you like your if and when you get them. Let us know, and post some pics...what color do you have?

i have a honda red one. every honda in my door yard is red. i actually wanted a green one, but the red one(which imo looks the best) was all they had left. i just wanted a green one so that if it was a little dirty it wouldnt show. but im glad i got the red one. i just wanted a more aggressive tire. the stock ones are fine, but they are just that... stock. i have only gotten stuck once where i ride. its mostly rocky, with a few mud holes. the only place thats flat and smooth is the dirt roads we can take to get to the trails. i dont really ride my 400ex that much anymore because of the trails i ride are mostly for 4x4's. i do have a neighbor with a smallish sand pit which is a blast for that. anyways i will have to figure out how to post pics so that i can show everyone what i have... back to the new tires... i had to get the plain jane itp silver steel wheels. the only other wheel i liked/ could afford was the itp C series type 7. which... they are not making any more and i could only get them on the rear. im planning on adding a 2" lift on my 420. i know its unneccessary, but its something i want to do. i saw an exhaust i wanted for the rancher but they dont make it yet for that wheeler yet. i will definately post pics and let everyone know how much BETTER my new wheels/ tires perform.
