Default Honda 400ex shifting hard

I've noticed that when my bike is cold, i have a hard time getting into neutral while it's running. Also, when I hold the clutch in and shift into first, it will lunge forward a bit.

Is this an indication of a problem? normal when cold?

thick oil causes the clutch to drag when cold, pretty normal, depending on how heavy an oil you are using.
