Default drain fuel in carb 2000 Rancher

My cousin sunk his Rancher yesterday and I'm trying to help him get it running so we can ride in the AM. It will run with the choke pulled all the way out. He ran it for about 30 minutes yesterday and you could see the water coming out of the pipes when he gassed it. Now when he gasses it, it doesn't stall but it still will not idle if he pushes the choke back in. Doing a little research, I read that he should have drained the fuel bowl of the carb before cranking. Anybody got any pics or illustrations of this? Please help, we gotta ride in the morning.

heres what to do when you sink a quad. if its running still rev it and ride until you dont get anymore water out the exhaust.

CHANGE ENGINE OIL. if you got any water or mud threw the intake or exhaust it wll work its way into the oil. change the filter too.

your probly better off cleaning out the jets in the carb. sounds like your pilot jet is clogged. remove seat, move shrouding and loosen carb intake clamps. turn fuel switch off and remove fuel hose from carb. you will then be able to pull the carb up, with throttel and choke cables still attached;its quicker to just leave them attached. remove the 4skrews on the bottom side of the carb, gass will drain dont worry. clean all the jets with and bowl with carb cleaner. mwke sure there is no trash in the carb then put the bowl back on

now clean your pilot jet, its located outside the bowl, twords the engine. its a single brass skrew, remove it, but be careful because there are two o-rings and a spring attached to the brass needle. carefully hose off with carb cleaner. make sure to clean the hole on the carb as well. skrew the pilot jet back in until it is lightly seated. then skrew OUT 2 5/8 turns.

this will hopefully get you ready to ride and fix your idol problem.
