Default klf 400 question

The manual on the 95 KLF 400 Kawasaki says to remove the cover from the side to access the clutch adjustment screw.
There are two (2) screws under the cover, the top one adjust the clutch -- what does the other one do?

Default klf 400 question

The lower one must be loosened and set at the mid postion BEFORE you adjust the top screw.
Here is detailed step of what you need to do:
> Loosen the nut for the top screw.
> Loosen the nut for the bottom screw.
> Try to turn the bottom screw to both clockwise and counter-clockwise just a little bit at a time until you feel it gets tight. Find and set in the middle spot where the screw feels the "most" loosened.
> Tighten the nut while holding the bottom screw in the mid position that you found in above step.
> Adjust the top screw which is actually for the clutch adjustment.
> Tighten the top nut.

Default klf 400 question

Thanks to HAYASHI for answering my question.

My son moved the bottom screw and I didn't want to break something because it was not in the right place.

Thanks again.
