Use an engine cleaner from an automotive store.

You can also go to your local honda shop and get a cleaner called Honda Brite. It will clean everything up.

Spray silicone on your engine to prevent mud from sticking and causing thoughs awfull stains.

I have this acid i use. Its nice. Works very well and keeps it clean forever too. Its used for aluminum stuff on semis, I would think you could go get some at like a Napa or something.

I have been trying for a month to find simple green around here. I don't think they sell it anymore. I used to buy it at Quality, and I think they had it at Wal-mart, but no more...

Try Castrol Super Clean or Purple Power. Both at available at wal-mart and both are biodegradeable. Awesome stuff. Use it straight or dilute to the recommendations on the bottle. Works great on wheels and engines also.
