New quad for my 6 y.o. daughter
Hi all,
My daughter has been riding an LT50 since she was 3, and I've done every conceivable (and safe) mod other than putting on aftermarket parts. Bottom line: She's done with it and needs a more powerful, better suspended quad.
We ride in California so a 4 stroke is a must. She jumps, races other kids (not sanctioned competition), and generally is a nut case on her quad. Guess she takes after her dad ;-)
Anyway, I'm looking for some advice for a new quad for her. I can get any of the Big-4 manufacturers models locally, and there is even a Can-Am dealer not too far as well as a Polaris dealer within reasonable distance. I want something that is not just designed for a larger, older beginner as beginner she is not. Her brothers have been riding for years, so have her friends and I've been riding for 30+ years myself.
We need something that can be slowed down at first with some sort of governing mechanism, but has decent suspension (not 2" of travel) and when uncorked -after she gets used to it - will make enough power for her to enjoy herself and keep up with friends who ride larger quads. Oh, needs to be automatic also...no shifting for her yet!
I like the Yamaha Raptor 90, but although it has more suspension travel than the Honda, it still seems a mild motor. The Suzuki and Kawasaki are the same bikes, and both a bit bland. What about the Polaris 90 or the Can-Am 90x? Any suggestions?

We raced against a Polaris 90 Outlaw and was impresses, the one that we raced against was the limited edition and had the Fox shocks on it. It seemed to be very dependable and quick for a little 4 stroke.

The new Suzuki 90 and Kawasaki are not the same. The Kawasaki is now made by Kymco. That Polaris 90 outlaw that hotblooded mentioned is nice. I have a friend that has one. Its the Outlaw MXR if Im not mistaken.

Check out this link, it is my 6 year old son at Glamis on his 125 BMS. I really liked the Can-Am DS-90, but for the price I could not beat this bike! It has a governor and plenty of suspension. He had a Kazuma 90 prior to this bike and the difference is night and day!
