recently i broke my axle carrier on my warrior so we orderd that ( 195 bucks from yamaha) priced a new seat that was almost 300 bucks so we didnt get it new plastics well u can just guess.. anyway once me and my dad got it tore down we needed to replace the bearings and the seals well we called up ole yamaha to see how much its gonna cost. 80 bucks for 2 bearings and 2 seals. so me and my dad head down to our local honda shop yes i said honda our good friend phil (he is really no longer a dealership but he does sell used bikes quads and trikes). he opend up a book found the bearings guess how much ? 10 bucks a piece that really ticked me off these are warrior bearings too. the seals he couldnt find in the book so we headd down to our local auto parts store and they didnt find the seal but one close to it and it was about 6 bucks a piece ! yamaha really pissed me off with that 80 bucks for 4 little parts sheesh i dont think i'll be shoping for parts at yamaha any more.. oh and my mom is gonna re vynil my seat and and friend of mine's dad knows some guys that coppied all the plastics for just about every make of bike ( i think) so that wont cost me much...
moral of the story is... yamaha shops = theviery dont shop there unless ya really have to !

At least your shop will actually sell you the parts... went to the local yamaha dealer here a couple months ago, said "I need all the parts to rebuild a stock 89 blaster carb", he said "they dont make such a thing"... Another day went there with a bunch of cash in my pocket wanting to buy a wheeler, told the guy "Im looking for something sporty, preferrablly chain drive" he said "you'll probally have better luck at the polaris dealer down the road"..... Its too bad for him, all of the other dealers are very nice and would be glad to help you, the polaris/kawasaki (one building) and the honda place know whats going on, the local artic cat and yamaha guys are goons..

I havent really had an overpricing problem with yamaha shops except for one time... (but hey who hasnt right!) There is a rubber boot that seals your caliper mounting bracket off from dirt, anyone whos pulled their bikes brakes apart knows the one) i accidently ripped one of these as i was taking the brakes apart to clean them.. Ah-well no big deal right? WRONG. Yamaha doesnt sell replacement dust-seals for the brake!! It would have cost me $225 for a new caliper because of a little tiny boot!! Needless to say i just mended the boot with some good old fashioned crazyglue and it hasnt broke on me yet!

You did a good move!I do not kno why people head down to there dealer to buy bearings for there machines. You only need to know the thickness, inside dia. and outside dia. of the bearing and then just go to a industrial supply store and buy the thing way cheaper.
