Default 2001 honda rubicon 500 power problems

okay so i have a 2001 honda rubicon 500. i have had SOME problems that were minor. for example the choke cable got stuck.. replaced it. but now i am clueless. i have SERIOUS power problems. the battery is new it starts no problem, shifts no problem but i cant get in to go over 5-10 mph no matter what gear i am in low, high, reverse, ANYTHING. i am very mechanic savy. and have NO idea what the problem could be. can anyone help!!!!!

hmmm, my choke cable is also stuck- wonder if this is common? anyways, as for the power- i had a issue years ago where the right front brake switch stuck on and it would misfire at so bad that the quad would not move.
any flashing codes?

no flashing codes, recently got the rubicon from an ex... she said that the bike ran great untill the choke cable got stuck. i replaced that and the throttle cable. have been reading reviews and say that i needed to "restart" the ecm did that last night and no change. i heard the engine "shift" when i hit all the buttons. but no performance change.. the funny thing is.. is that it runs great in reverse !!!

i have NO blinking codes... engine doesnt sputter..seems to idle a little low.. and when i gove it full gas in Nuetral it really doesnt seem to rev all the way. i mean its so sad that i had to put it in low to get up a low grade hill... and we have about 6 " of snow and it wouildnt go 3 feet thru it.. even shoveld a "runway" to get some speed up..and as soon as it hit the snow it bogged right out..reversed thru the snow just fine though lol.. might not know EXACTLY how to check for flashes where do they appear?

Codes appear where the gear position is displayed on the meter
Key off, hold both up and down shift buttons in while turning on the key, release them and rpess both at the same time again. Codes should flash if there are any. count the blinks. Between codes there is a 2 second pause.

ok couple things here to check
1 possible bad cam not opening the valves all the way and causing it to be low on power.

2 does it seem like it's dragging the brakes when you take off, possible HFT isn't shifting all the way back to get into 1st gear.

3. includes #2 oil pressure test should have 60 at idle and 150 at 5000rpms
