Default 2001 honda rubicon 500 power problems

Is the exhaust getting away fast enough , did you hold your hand a few inches from the exhaust ..

Here is the initializing info ..

yeah i did that after reading some of the blogs on here. the exhaust is kicking quite well.. its snowing here and the exhaust is good enough to blow the snow off my gloves. so any more info?

You could check the slide in the carb to make sure it isn't dragging and hanging up ..

what exactly do you mean by "slide" i am reading schematic books on this bike..so if you have a exact name i would better be able to answer that question..i have taken the carb apart so.. i appreciate all the help you all are giving me!

The slide is a variable venturi.
I think the oil pump relief valve is stuck. possable oil pump
They had some issues with them back then

The other thing to check is how much oil is in your motor, remeber you need to start and let run for 5 to 19 mins idling, shut off and let sit for 2 to 3 mins and removed dipstick and sit back in not screwed in.

Seen many times were people have over filled and drained out 12 quarts of oil.

Another and really odd, would be that the ecu has went bad and not advancing the timing.

My 2001 Honda rubicon 500 slips out of reverse to neutral when i rev it up.. Any idea what this may be? But if i hold the Shifter back it seems to stay in reverse....
