Anyone use a DG pipe on there 400??
#2
I bought one for my TBlazer, the Krome-lite w/ steel silencer. It even has a spark arrestor. I sent back the HPD pipe I had, just because the DG looks better, plus was 50 bucks cheaper, and don't imagine there's a whole lotta power difference between pipes. I know it fits real nice and looks good, but haven't re-jetted so I don't know how much more power it makes over stock. It sure sounds good idling though
I'd get the one for your 400, especially if you can get it cheap

I ordered a HDP pipe and have a Scrambler silencer on the way.I have to be as quite as I can, the HDP pipe will give me the extra HP and the Scrambler silencer will assure I have a spark arrestor and still be under the legal limit of 96db in Michigan.Great combination!

That's the set up that I have on my Scrambler, Bill. The Scrambler has a decent tone without being extremely loud. If it's still too loud, you can wrap it with the thermal header tape to absorb some of the sound energy coming through the headpipe and expansion chamber.
Mine is beginning to show some light surface rust, but being down here on the Gulf with the humidity and salt air, I'm not surprised. The pipe is probably going to get Jet-Hot coated before long.
