Well I guess i have another question. Being that i had to drill that adjuster out will i be able to put a helicoil in it and get the adjuster to work properly or is it a better idea to get another carburetor.

Default Carb help

i doubt there is enough material left in the hole to get a helicoil in there. i would try to find a carb somewhere or might be able to use some jb weld to fill in the hole part ways then drill and tap that out. dont want to get too much jb in there just in case it clogs up a hole. just a thought.

I can't tell for sure but it looks like your idle adjustment screw. As you turn it in, it should lift your throttle slide to give more r's

You should be alright if you didn't mess up the threads too much.

On a second look, it looks more like a jet, either high or low, either way if you didn't mess the theads up and you can still get the new part to thread in you should be OK.

If you didn't mess up the threads too much, you may be able to use the new adjuster to straighten them out by repeatedly screwing it in out out of the damaged threads. Force the adjuster in a little deaper each time.

You may also find a tap or a thread chaser to clean up the treads, but I don't know what kind or size theads are in the carb. If you find one to work, you again need to be carefull about running it in too deep, and messing up the seat.

What I would be concerned about is if any damage occured to the seat by drilling out the old adjuster. If you ran the drill bit too deep into the hole, you might have messed the seat up, ruining the carb.

The bottom line here, is you don't have much to loose by trying to save it. The option of buying another carb is always there.

Good luck.

Well I got the carb kit in today, and the adjuster screws in about 3 turns then gets really hard, so im afraid to go further. I want to chase the threads because i can still see some of the gold adjuster pieces in there, But i have no idea what size tap i need.
]Anyone have a clue?
