i just got a 98 yamaha blaster from my friend for $500. i rode it all day when i got it. the next morning i started it up and rode it around the block. i came back to get my helmet and it stalled. i couldnt get it started since it stalled. i got new plugs checked the carbruator the reeds changed the gas. it sparks fine.
i pull started it and it fired up but it wouldnt stay started unless i gave it full throttle. can anyone help me ?????????????

 

what did your plug look like when u swapped it for a new one?

yea its prolly got a dirty carb or incorrectly jetted. its got a nice steady fat blue spark you say though?

we took the carb to a mechanic he sayed it was pretty clean

 

he sayed he didnt know what was wrong cuz he doesnt work with them

 

what about compression? for 500 bucks its prolly worn out, you can compression test it or if thats not an option take the plug out hold ur thumb over the hole and kick it slowly, it should make ur thumb pop off of it within the second kick or so.

check compression. if spark is good, carb is working like it should, then compression is next thing to check, you also might wanna take your reed cage off and make sure there no broken petals or any dirt in there.
