Default Engine swap help

I'm new to this forum and glad i found it. I need some serious help. I'm swaping out a motor on my dads 1998 sportsman 500 for him. Honestly im not that knowledged about wheelers. I figured just an engine swap wouldn't be too bad. the engine i was told would swap just fine doesn't have the big oil breather line next to the oil inlet/outlet lines on the exhaust side of the motor rather it has a hose attachment on the carb side on the crankcase with a pin sized hole in the top of it. Is This the oil breath line on this motor? It starts and idles great, but when i put some throttle to it it cuts out and backfires. oil comes flying out of this hose bib. My question is what to do with this line? should i plug it? should i run it to the airbox like on the old motor and mine(204)? Also there is quite a lot of oil that sprays out. Is this normal? Just not sure what to do and if this is causing it to cut out. Any help guys?
