Default 09 500 H.O. HORSEPOWER?

I was wondering if anyone knows how much horsepower a 09 500 H.O. makes? I believe my dad said there was a paper w/ his Ranger that said 32hp but I don't know if thats correct or if the Ranger has the same engine as my x2. Just wondering. Thanks Jeremiah.

I believe my 08' 500 HO was 36 HP? Not sure on the 09', but I doubt they would reduce it. As a matter of fact, if yours is EFI, it may be 1 or 2 HP more.

It is EFI. It really doesn't matter but I was wondering. I can't wait to run it out so far I haven't run it W.O. or even over 20 mph yet.

Yep, it will have plenty of zip. Probably all the power 90% of ATV'ers need. Of course, there's nothing wrong with wanting more.

If the '09s are the same as the last few years I think the carb is 36.5 HP and the EFI is 38 HP. The Rangers must be non-H.O.s because they have less power. When the 500 H.O. first came out it was suppossed to be something like 15% (or 20%) more power than the non-H.O. The figures add up too. 32 + 15% = 36.8.
