Default X2 bumpers and Light Kits

Ok, I need a good bumper for my 2008 X2. I like the looks of the Polaris bumper but I read on here somewhere that you cant us it for tie down or towing , why? . I looked at the ATV-Guru bumper can you use it for towing or tie down. It is twice the money as the polaris. Is there any other bumpers that you all have found? One more thing where can I find the rear work light kit that comes with everything you need to wire it up and where can I find the wiring kit that works with you 2 head lights to make them come on at the same time

Thanks for you help. Merry Christmas

the 3 light mod($15), work light kit ($18-$20) can be bought from quadovator.com, but I got my 3 light kit off ebay, for $3 or $4, and all that you need for the work lights, is 2 sylvania 912 or 921 lights (921 is brighter), and a switch
it all can be done for less from ebay, and a trip to the local parts store, or if you want simple(more expensive) kits

as far as the bumper goes, both are good, the only difference is with the atv guru you can get expanded metal grate, in the lights and rad. area
I suppose you could use them both for tie down, although I wouldn't, there is no difference as far as strength and mounting, there both only 4 bolts

It is hard to find a area in the back to tie it down to a trailor or to tie on a tow rope to pull someone out.

O I didn't realize you were talking about the rear bumper,
I think that would be an ok tie down point

As far as I know those are your only choices. The Polaris one is a light weight and cheap looking.I can tell you that the Guru makes a well constructed heavier duty product(s) thats American Made. One of my buddies has the X2 kit on his ATV.And another is ordering one soon.

I believe the x2 rear bumpers bolt down to the underside of the dump bed, The bumper has to be able to tilt with the dump bed, so that the bed doesnt flip up and hit a stationary bumper. The bed frame does not seem to be a very heavy duty mounting point which may be why they dont reccomend using the bumper to tow. The guru bumper looks like a two piece kit, you get the bumper that bolts to the bed and a seperate bar that mounts lower (looks like it has a solid attatchment point) you could maybe tow with that lower bar. I agree the polaris x2 bumper looks better. They just came out with it the last couple of months. I am getting the polaris one for christmas If you need something to tow with why dont you just use the reciever with a ball or shackle?

why put the rear lights on there if they don't sell the parts to make them work. I know they work on the deluxe

Yes polaris does make a kit for the wor lights, about $22. I am getting ready to order one myself. There are old posts on this site (do a search) this is where I got my info. It includes the bulbs and a switch that is supposed to fit into right into the spedometer pod, I think there is a round hole just plugged off, where the switch goes.
