Unless you over filled the crankcase by about 3 qt's or have some sort of weird case vent problem it's going to be the rings. I don't see how it can run with that much blowby? What's the compression?

Sorry about your engine and your job.
My ATV runs great, but I may join you in the job deal. My boss is saying some weird stuff, so I will know in about 3 months when my contract is up.

if you've got everything pulled off and feel overwhelmed crate it all and take it to a respectable shop and ask them to "inspect" everything for you... this shouldn't cost more than 20 to 30$ at the most
if you jaw jack with some of the guys in service, tell them what's going on and your current situation they might look at it for free.
if you can feel the gouges then it is most likely time for a bore job.
depending on how bad the gouges are you may have to bore 2 or 3 thousands over...
new piston kit...
hopefully ur head and valves are good.
so yea you're looking at 250 to 300 in best case...
