I would guess that the knock is either a loose piston, bearing problem or clutch that is worn out. If you get close enough can you tell the area that the knock is coming from. As far as the gearing, they are a little close. Check to see if the stock sprokets are on there, I believe it was 13f 41R that came stock on them. I am sure someone out here knows for sure, it has been a long time since I have messed with the stock sprokets.
But see if you can tell where the knock is coming from to start with.

it sounds like the piston area but it runs fine.i read on another site when the engines get rebuilt they do that and the guy i got it from told me it was just rebuilt.

I am not an expert in motors but I haven't really heard of a new rebuild knocking. Sometimes when you put a new piston in and don't do anything with the cylinder they will knock because the piston may have some slop in it. If it has been rebuilt I would want to know if the previous piston broke or the reason for the rebuild. If the piston broke I would like to make sure the bottom end was cleaned and checked over good. Those pieces can get into the rod bearings and make some noise and not last too long. I'm sure there are more people on here that would be able to add to this.

The little knocking noise in the piston is normal. It usually makes it when u let it idle. but ya. my blaster makes the noise, my budys blaster does. mu uncles does its all good dude.

And the gear ratio for blaster is normal. It just has alot of power and you accelerate very fast so it seems as if the gears are short.
Stock gearing for a blaster is about 57-60 mph.
If you are looking to get faster gears you need to get faster gears, However, make sure you get engine work done before you do that because the Blaster will take a very long time to get to the top speed when the engine doesn't have enough power to use the gears.

Good luck bra.
Have fun.

One more thing. go up a tooth on front sprocket. will add 3 mph. make sure you have a good pipe and silencer.
