The biggest thing you'll notice is the price! $2500 for the motor! Then to make use of the power, you'll have to upgrade the suspension. I have rode a 435cc Warrior. It ran well, but most of the power was at a high rpm. As far as reliabilty, that was in 96 and it's still running strong today with no major problems.

A friend of mine had his warrior built to 435 ???. Pretty sure 4-stroke Tech did it. I rode it a couple times, but didn't like it. It was a torque monster, but wouldn't rev much better than my lawnmower. I couldn't even pull wheelies very good, in fact I don't think it did pull wheelies. I don't think he runs it anymore. He tried steeper gears in order to get more speed out of it since he had so much lowend. Nothing solved the lack of top-end problem though.

I had a 92 Warrior that I put a 435 kit in it from FST in 94 rode it 4 years without a problem. It did start smokin a little when cold in 98 when I sold it.
What pddan said is correct it was a torque monster but wouldn`t rev out. The 2 valve head is the limiting factor. I got the gearing so it wasn`t too bad for the trailriding I did, getting it to hook up was near impossible.
You would probably be happier with putting a higher comp. piston 10.25 to 1, WB trail cam with new springs & titanium retainers and port the head for about $500 vs $1000 for the 435 kit and put the other $500 into the suspension for a good all around improvement.
It was $1000 in 94 for FST to do mine. You send them your motor and they put in a larger crank, bore and sleeve the cylinder it also included a HD clutch. The price included all the parts & labor to disassemble, machine and assemble. On top of this you could go with a cam, port & polish and a bigger carb to help it breathe a little better but thats lots more money yet. HTH

while it is true the money spent on the motor and the warrior itself you could probably buy a raptor. but.... anybody with money can buy a turn key fast quad why not do something alittle different and also go in reverse?

The Raptor has reverse, and is reliable so far. Why spend alot of Time, Money and etc. on a quad that you'll most likely have issues with. Now if it's a tinkering project that you want to see if you can do it. Then I would say, Have Fun!

Hey EasterEgg I know it is alot more money but don't you think that not going with the port & polish head, cam, and bored carb that that could have been what was holding back the top end from revving out. I know that the two valve head hampers it also. Also one small advantage a stroked and bored Warrior would have over a Raptor is six speed verses a five speed. Though the handling is still not up to par.
