Well, I am now looking for a winch for my '09 Wolverine. Is there any specific one I should get? And where is the best place to get it. I am looking to get a nice deal, so it certainly doesn't have to be the most expensive one out there ... It just has to fit.

Please let me know what I should get and provide links if you can.

go to local tractor supply buy a champion 3000 lb winch on sale 84.00 with the ferlead with it it pulls my big bear 350 out of swamped mud holes

 

got my champion from costco.... works better than the warn i had....2500 is all you need.... that will fit without any problems....

 

How much did you get it for?

 

it was around 75 bucks i believe...

 

costco price you have to be a memmber.tracter supply has them on sale now i beleave the 2500 lb was only 60.00 there i only payed 80 something for my 3000 lb remmber the highest pound rating is judged with the ****** block rig cable doubled back to unit like example my 3000 lb with snach block rig about 2200 lb direct pull.so a 2500lb is most likely around 1800 lb direct pull with out ****** block.you can get a cheap one from harbor freight for 39.00 but just pay the extra 20.00 and get one worth something to ya

 

Thanks for the info. I am going to go with the one from tractor supply then. One more question though. Will it mount on fine with the universal mount that it comes with or will I have to buy a wolvy mount kit for it?

 

all i did is buy a peace of steel plate quarter inch thick at home depot and made my own plate for the plate that comes with winch to mount to.and some quarter inch u bolt witch tractor supply has
