2006 Honda Rubicon Shock Adjustment?
#1
Hey Guys,
Is there anyway to stiffen the rear shocks on my 2006 Honda Rubicon? I do alot of ice fishing and have a rack mounted to my rear rack which holds my shanty upright. When I head out on the ice the front wheels are loosing traction due to rear sag.
I think the Canadian issued 2006 Rubicons have adjustments on the shocks. Is there something I can put in the springs to stiffen?
Any ideas?
Thanks

i do believe there is a block you can put between the shock and mount to stiffen the shock. or Highlifter springs will stiffen/raise your ride. idk about shock adjustments on the rubi"s, sorry

Hey Cherokee99
Thanks for the help! I think I used some kind of a rubber block spacer on my first car when I was kid for a sagging shock problem. I have been trying to search on the internet but can't figure out what there called.
Can springs be added without any other mods? Is Highlifter a brand of springs? Sorry for being so green!
Thanks again for the help...

I found the Highlifter springs online. They want $149 for front and back, not too bad. Does anyone know how big of a pain it is to change the springs?
Thanks again for the help!

Does anyone else have any ideas? I was thinking of putting in some Spring Coil Spacers, they are either made of aluminum or hard rubber. Anybody know if this will have any ill effects on my springs?
Thanks again
Thanks again

for the highlifter springs, i have a set all the way around on my foreman: and i love them! you could change them over by takeing the shocks off, and with a spring compresser/ratchet straps compress the spring and remove the shock. but if your in doubt it should'nt be more then $40-$50 for a mechanic to do it.
if your going to go with the block spacers those will give you less suspention movement. and if you ever decide to take them off your springs will sag a bit. but ether will give you what you need, more rack capacity.
good luck
