I just read a post on here (Topic: Riding Boots) about a guy who refused to wear boots and shattered his ankle while riding.
I was wondering, what kind of safety gear do the rest of you wear. I always thought it was lame to wear stuff like boots and such but now i'm kinda changing my mind.
Currently i'm just a helmet, jacket, riding gloves type of rider. What else should i get, or what else do you wear on normal outings?
Mike

I wear- Gloves(all the time), Helmet(all the time), boots, jacket, pants.

I have to wear long sleeves and long pants all the time in the bush I ride in, there are wild raspberry bushes and the thorns on them tear your skin up...the thorns are like razors on sticks...LOL

Helmet, goggles (a must, you can't replace your eyes), gloves, riding boots (They have steel shanks in them to protect your ankles if you get run over. Long sleeves (You can get a tan later. I prefer riding pants to jeans, if you get wet, jeans are not at all comfortable. Of course a rain suit is needed sometimes if it's really sloppy. If you do any riding with any 2-strokers (dirt bikes or quads) it's a good idea to get a chest protector. They fling rocks and all kinds of junk. You might catch 'em but you'll never pass 'em without a chest protector. They also provide some shoulder protection in case of a nasty "get off".

Helmet, goggles, gloves, boots-always.
I never wore a chest protector, until I hit a log with my left front tire that was hidden in the weeds at three quarter throttle. I got slightly injured, and bought a chest protector the next day. I wear it on long, technical rides. I also wear riding pants on those rides.
