400 ex tire ??
#1
I have a 2002 honda 400 EX and got a great deal on a tire/wheel combo. Stock rear tire/rim set-up is 20 x 10-9 knobby . I`m changing for the winter to Duro Mud and Sand 22x11x8 with Steel Wheel 8X8.5 3.5 + 5.0 rims. Will be any size problems? Just got for $120 for 2 tires and 2rims mounted. The size i wanted was out of stock and these were about the only set up left on the site. Just got the quad and dont want to wait to have fun. We got alot snow up here and stock tires aren`t going to good.

Well, you got 8" diameter wheels and 8" diameter tires, so it should work. Did you remember to get the right bolt pattern???
Room for the tires on the quad shouldn't be a big deal, but 22's will raise your gearing and, and you will lose low end power (not a great thing in the snow or sand!). Steel rims are heavy like a brick!

not sure if i`m right thought it would almost even out the mud tires are 2 inches taller then stock and the rims are 1 inch smaller. About the bolt pattern i selected honda 400 EX on the combo info, so hopefully they send me the right ones. Probally better off losing a little low end for now. I`m only been riding for a year and coming from a smaller 88 Suzuki 230 Quadsport. Not picking up the 400Ex till fri and it been piped and jetted and might have the 416 kit. Thanks for the reply. Wish me luck lol
