Fox Floats just arrived
#1
UPS man just delivered me some Fox Floats, Merry X-Mas to me! I just slapped them on and they sure are light, I'd say at least half the weight of the stockers if not less. I aired them up to 50 lbs. to start off with, they came with about 45 from the factory. Action seems real smooth and damping seems nice & plush but that's just from bouncing on her in the garage. Can't get out today to test them just yet & play with different pressures but will report back with findings. So, who all else out there has an opinion on these shocks? So far I really like what I see but the ride will tell the tale of course...

Well, I just got back from a short test ride, 70 degrees here in WV, crazy huh? Anyway, at 50 lbs. they are about as plush as I could imagine any shock to be. I have tried Works which were ok at best and the stockers I had at zero preload and they were actually better (plusher) than the Works but these Floats seem to suit me just right. All I ride is backroads, mostly 4th & 5th gear stuff and my biggest concern is a comfy ride so my review might not be the best to consider for those who jump & ride moto. There was a bit of front end dive under braking but 50 is the min. pressure and I ride with a 5 gallon tank (heavy) so I'm thinking 60-70 might help out here. So that's it so far, haven't tried higher pressures due to a stumble/miss off idle with the Lectron, I need to get that sorted out.

Good question, I'll have to drag the ball & chain out to the garage to measure for me, kinda hard to do solo. What's a good front end sag # anyway?

Man, I'm jealous of those bad boys. You get super light weight with an awesome ride. By the way, I know a guy that runs Float's on his Honda 450 and they work very well for BIG jumping. He likes to go big out in the dunes and they work awesome for that.

I run more sage than most for a lower ride height. I like around 4.5 front and 5.5 rear. I had to bump up the compression dampening on the rear but the front has been fine. But to be honest if I get 4 feet off the ground I feel like I just entered orbit.
