honda XR600R machanical question

honda XR600R machanical question
Happy Holidays all,
I have recantly decided to get a Xr600R up and running for a freind. problem is no oil to the upper end. I'm thinking it the oil pump. the biggest problem is a small amount of scaring on the inside of the small hole of the push rod. the bike is not worth terring the engine down to the crank to replace the push rod. Is there any way to clean up the scaring inside the small end of the push rod.
