Default 1996 Scrambler

My scrambler died last night after just installing a new plow.

I tore the engine apart and found the cable for the oil injection pump stuck wide open which explaines the smoke. However, the cyl and piston have 2 grooves and I can't figure out why. Prior to the taredown, I did a compression test and afte 3 revolutions it had about 30 psi and would leak down immeaditly. But after 5 rev it had 100 and held. What gives? Also it has been bored once 30 over, can it be bored again? How do I remove the pistion from the pin without removing the crank? Please let me know. Nasser

You can bore these up to .080 over. The cables stick when they are not properly oil and cleaned at least once a yr.
