just asking around to see what people are running for tire pressure when they plow???

 

3 lbs all the way around on my stock 489's. The Sportsman's are big quads... don't want to go to low.

 

i agree that would be a good pressure as the colder air makes them loose a little anyways.

 

I air mine up to 5 psi since lowering the pressure doesn't increase the footprint on radials like it does on bias tires. They slowly lose air may get down to 3 psi before I air them back up.

 

I run 3 pounds or less, but I'm running Bias plys.
It makes a big difference in the snow.
Frank is right about the radials, it helps to lower the pressure some,
but the footprint won't flatten as much as a Bias ply. 4-5 PSI is about right.
The 12" tires are also way better as far as airing down, verses the 14".
You probably want to keep at least 2 pounds of air minimum or you may unseat the beads,
unless you have bead locks.
